Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27. But in the Dominican Republic it stopped being a single day a while ago: many retailers start their deals on November 1 and stretch them across the whole month. If you sell anything, you have about four weeks to get ready.

Here is what to have in place, week by week, so that month brings you sales and not just unanswered messages.

The dates that matter

  • November 1: deals start across much of Dominican retail.
  • Friday, November 27: Black Friday.
  • Monday, November 30: Cyber Monday, the online shopping day.
  • December: Christmas comes right after, the second wave. What you prepare now works for it too.

Where your sale will get stuck

In the Dominican Republic, buying online almost always ends in a chat. According to Kantar, in the first quarter of 2024, 82% of households that bought through a digital channel did it on WhatsApp.

That means your bottleneck in November won't be the ad. It will be answering in time. The customer who asks "do you still have it?" and gets no reply messages the next business on the list. We go into detail in the five-minute window.

Week 1: decide what you'll offer

Before designing anything, be clear on this:

  • Which products or services are included and how many units you really have.
  • How much the price drops, with the regular price next to it.
  • When the deal ends. A deal with no end date doesn't push anyone to decide.
  • How people pay and how they get it: transfer, card, installments, delivery, store pickup.

A warning: raising prices in October to "cut" them in November shows. People compare, take screenshots and share them. A small, real discount sells more than a big one nobody believes.

Week 2: let people see your prices without asking

The question you'll get most is "how much is it?". Every time someone has to ask, you both lose time.

  • A catalogue with prices. WhatsApp Business lets you upload your products with a photo and price. If you also have a website, a single page with every deal, its price and its end date, is the easiest thing to share in an ad or your Instagram bio.
  • Photos that load fast. Your customer will see them on a phone, on mobile data. An 8 MB photo takes seconds nobody waits for; here's how to fix it in this article about heavy photos.
  • A link that works. Check that the link in your bio, your ads and your stories goes straight to the deals, not to your usual home page.

Week 3: get WhatsApp ready for the volume

If you answer twenty messages on a normal day, November can bring many more. Prepare beforehand:

  • Quick replies for the questions you know are coming: price, availability, delivery, payment methods and warranty.
  • A greeting message that says what details to send so you can help faster.
  • Labels to separate who asked, who paid and who is still waiting for delivery.
  • Who answers and when. If it's just you, decide which hours you'll give it each day and say so in the automatic message.

Week 4: measure and get seen

  • Tag every link by channel. That way you'll know whether sales came from the ad, Instagram or Google, and in December you'll put the money where it worked. We explain how in where your clients come from.
  • Post the deal on your Google profile. People searching for you by name see it before they reach your website. If you don't show up on the map yet, start with this guide.
  • Test everything on your phone, on mobile data rather than the office wifi: open the ad, tap the link, look at the deal and message yourself on WhatsApp as if you were a customer.

The mistakes that cost the most sales

  • "Message us for the price" in the middle of deal season.
  • Deals with no end date, or with a date that has already passed.
  • Selling what you no longer have and having to cancel afterwards.
  • A website that is slow or doesn't look right on a phone.
  • Messages answered the next day.

After November 30

Don't delete anything. Whoever messaged you in November and didn't buy already knows who you are: they're the first people to tell about your Christmas deals. Save those contacts with their label and write to them in December with something specific.

What you can do today

  1. Choose your deals and write down the regular price, deal price, units and end date.
  2. Upload the products to your WhatsApp Business catalogue.
  3. Write five quick replies for the questions you get most.
  4. Check your website for free at valtodigitalrd.com: in a few seconds it tells you whether something measurable from the outside is missing.
  5. If you want a page just for your deals, ready before November 1, see how a landing page works.
